I took this articles advice and set up an affiliate program on my web site. I get indexed, but I don’t get a lot of hits and almost not search engine attention. Will this help?
When you write and submit articles online, be sure to understand your objectives for doing all that work. Your goal may be to build back links to your website for SEO purposes, for traffic generation purposes, or both.
Link building for SEO.
You can publish articles with the sole purposes of acquiring valuable one way back links for your website. You are not too concerned about page views. You just want the articles to be indexed and the links to be counted. Also, you want to use keywords as anchor texts in your links. The objective is to promote your own website with tons of back links so that your own articles start to rank better in the search results. The downside for this approach is that it may take a while before a brand new site becomes recognized as an authority site. In other words, you have to be patient. The upside is that you enjoy larger rewards in the long term since you own the website.
Publish for traffic.
Some marketers publish articles sole for traffic. They just want to drive targeted traffic to their landing pages. Hence, they are not too concerned about anchor texts. Rather, they want their articles to rank well and acquire higher page views. This leads to more clicks. They also spend a lot of time crafting articles that will perform better with higher click through rates. The titles and the author boxes become extremely important.
Write for both.
The approach I recommend is to write for SEO, and for instant traffic as well. When a site is new, your own articles won’t rank. Hence, having articles that can bring you traffic gives you something to work with. At the same time, you are building back links to your own site. The time will come when your own website starts to receive organic search traffic. That’s great because you now have two traffic sources instead of just one.
I need to know what web and especially SEO standards(step-by-step) I must meet before I release my website to the public. This will be a Social Forum website and it’ll be great if I have the chance to see your precious professional opinions and tips.
Thank you.
I would love to one day quit my job in advertising and become a full-time Internet marketer. How cool would that be to stay home and work a couple hours a day? Since I already have a background in advertising, I know some things about Internet marketing, but I am looking for a reliable source or website where I can learn the ins and outs so I can finally quit my job and make some money online. Anyone know of such a source or website?
